Terrazze dell'Etna's Carusu is a refined and vibrant red wine, the perfect ambassador of the unique terroir of Europe's highest active volcano. This Etna Rosso DOC is born from a skillful blend of the area's two quintessential native grape varieties: Nerello Mascalese (80%), which provides structure, elegance, and a dense minerality, and Nerello Cappuccio (20%), which enriches the glass with color, smoothness, and enveloping fruity notes. Grown on lava terraces in the municipality of Randazzo, the vines benefit from significant temperature variations between day and night. The result is a red wine with great character, yet extraordinarily smooth and refreshing.
Tasting Notes
Color: Bright ruby red with typical garnet highlights.
Nose: Fine and elegant bouquet. Intense notes of red berries, black cherry, and wild strawberries emerge, accompanied by spicy nuances of black pepper and hints of Mediterranean scrub.
Taste: Balanced, fresh, and smooth on the palate. The tannins are smooth and give way to a long, savory finish characterized by a persistent volcanic minerality.
